In the wake of George Floyd’s murder in 2020, Aurora James started her work with the Fifteen Percent Pledge, a nonprofit that encourages retailers to devote 15 percent of their shelf space to Black-owned brands. Three years later, she has driven over $16 billion in annual revenue to Black-owned businesses and recently announced the launch of her Friends and Family Collective, an $850 million fund that will focus on founders of Black-owned businesses.
