Speaker Bio
An operator turned investor, Matt Cohen started Ripple Ventures in 2018 to bring his “operator-first” mindset to the early-stage investing world. Having built a career as a public market investor, he made his first startup investment in Turnstyle Solutions and helped bring the company from idea in 2012 to exit in 2017 by being more than just a name on the cap table. Through his hands-on operations, strategy, and business development guidance, the company sold to Yelp! in 2017. Given his hands-on approach to investing, Cohen leads most rounds he invests in and usually has a board seat. At Ripple Ventures, he also runs The Tank, an incubator space that helps connect founders to the advisers and mentors they need to bring their ideas to life, and hosts the "Tank Talks" podcast, for which he interviews leaders in the startup space about company-building and VC investing. He regularly shares his perspective on early-stage VC and startup dynamics in places like TechCrunch, Crunchbase, and Business Insider, as well as on podcasts like "Venture Unlocked" with Samir Kaji.
